I'm sure everyone here is familiar with the banning of many horror films in England back in the 1980s, the so-called video nasties ban. These were films which were deemed too offensive to appear the shelves of local video stores all around the UK, in the end 72 films were banned, many copies of some of these films were seized by the police. Funny enough Evil Dead was one of the targets, the police tried to confiscate it and if it were not for someone hiding the film across the street from the theater (in a church no less) we might not have the film.
For those of you who download torrents here is the complete list of all 72 films, many of which are hard or nearly impossible to find on DVD. Here is a list of the films:
