In a world where the most famous slasher film icons are real, a documentary film crew has been hired to film the preparations of Leslie Vernon, as he prepares to join the ranks of Jason, Michael and Freddy. The crew film's Leslie meticulous preparations to murder a group of teenagers partying in an abandoned farmhouse. Where he will be confronted by his virginal 'survivor girl' Initially the crew is enthusiastic about his plans but their consciences catch up with them on the night of the planned murders. They beg Leslie to call it off and when he refuses, they abandon their film and attempt to warn the teenagers of the maniac waiting for them and when they do so they add themselves to Leslie Vernon's list of intended victims.
