Hands of the Ripper is a 1971 British slasher film that was directed by Peter Sasdy for legendary Hammer Film Productions. When it was first released in the USA, several gory scenes were removed and replaced with extended psychiatry scenes to fill the missing run time.
The infant daughter of Jack the Ripper is a witness to his killing her own mother. Fifteen years later she is a troubled young woman seemingly possessed by the spirit of her father. While in a trance like state she continues her father's legendary killing spree, but has no memory of her actions once she wakes. A psychiatrist takes her in believing he can cure her condition and soon thereafter regrets his decision to help the troubled young woman.
