Sam reclaimed the pieces of film and re-wound them around the rest of the reel. "The Menace of Clayoquot sound, Lily." Sam smiled before continuing. "He says it has something to do with a sea monster god, known as Phle'g-thon. Its the same bullcrap that everyone in Astoria was brought up on. I guess we were lucky in that we never put much stock in the old legends, for according to grandad it is belief in Phle'g-thon that gives him life." With a sllight grunt Sam got off his knees and stood up. "The same old shit." Sam then turned around to face the direction of his house by the woods which stood on the edge of Dark Point beach. "Ill see you later Lil." Sam then walked to his house.

There are several types of fish that have been knowen to jump out of the water, these fish were largly predators which would go after prey from below, the acceleration would often take them out of the water. Lily would only get but a brief glimose of the coming phenonenon, and since she had already begun to daydream the reality of the event was somwhat blurred. One thing was for certain, the thing which had made a brief appearence out in the waters by Devil's Reef was no mere fish. It was out near the spot where the Marion Rose had been sescued that it first appeared, it was large with a blueish hue, but what had immerged from the water was but a small fraction of its total size. Even Lily was aware that there were no large mammals that had ever come that close to the bay, this left her with no option for describing what she had jest beheld.

FFraanklin's "German contact" meandered up to Abigila as she stood on gaurd while she eyed her patrners movements. "I hope you are able to get the device off of the plane in time, I cant keep it here indefinatly." The man's intention was first to gain her confidance and second to disarm her so that he couled releve Abigial of the gun which she possessed, for she no doubt had one on her person. Klaus had guessed as much and when Abigial was less attentive to thier commincations whith one another Klaus had instructed his secret partner to take the nesseccary procuations.

Sam was home at the time, his wife Anne was busy at some kind of Parent Assiociation thing at his son's school, Jake had accompanied her. Sam was standing in the living and was about to take the first few steps up the staircase to the second floor when he hear the knocking nad pounding. Plaxcing the glass of Burbon which he held in his hand upon the hard oak table near the stairs, Sam turned tail and walked toward the front door. Sam opened the hinged barrier that separated the inner sanctum of the Lovecraft residence from the natural outer world, there he found a frantic and excited Liliy Roman. Sam responded to her demands to see his grandfather by opening the door wide and letting the trembling young woman inside. "Sure, whats wrong Lil? Come on Ill take you to see him, he is up I heard him a few minutes ago pacing his bedroom." Sam stepped aside to let Lily inside, then after he closed the front door Sam took the head position and preoceeded to ascend the stairs, with Lily foollowing siut. The door to old man Lovecraft's bedroom was open and so the two visitors simply walked right in, the old man was no longer in pacing mode, but was instead sitting qiutlu on the edge of his bed. "You have somthing to ask me youing lady?" Came the sudden surprise of speach from the oft talkative old sea dog.

"Phleg'e-thon is an Anencephalus monster of prodigious size. Phleg'e-thon is the god of change and transformation. Its form is pretty much humanoid, with the excetoion that its lower body ends in a great fin, you may think of it as a god of what are commonly known as Mermaids and Mermen." Old man Lovecraft got up from the bed to stand near the window and gaze out at the ocean. "He is Adaro from the mythology of the Solomon Islands, to the Assyrians it is known as Atargatis, Dagon in ancient Semitic mythology, Ea to Babylonians and he was Glaucus, the mortal transformed into a merman in Greek mythology." The old man turned to face Lily and Sam who was standing directly behind her. "You see this is not fantasy or myth, it is not legend. Phle'g-athon is real. For this reason you must not let anyone else see that footage, should they also come to bleive, to believe and set him free once again." After saying this the old man sat back down on the edge of his bed and refused to say anything further.

The grass was once sown a vibrant green, but now mixed with the dripping red blood from the meandering living corpses which were packed into the vast courtyard like so many oozing, slimy sardines. The grass was now matted and clumped against the blood soaked dirt of the prison courtyard, the great expanse which once served as a relief to the tedium of imprisonment was now allocated to the dead and their pointless and futile daylight wanderings. The right end of the prison complex was walled off by concrete buildings and a wall behind, these once served as housing for those staff members who were forced to spend the majority of their professional life as full time personnel. These days the building was of little use, largely packed with the accumulated bits of junk which never seemed to leave the grounds of the complex. To the left the courtyard was cut off by the splayed structures of Cell blocks four and five, each of the six enclosures were blocked off in this manner, the compiled cell blocks all set in a fan arrangement. Either by accident or providence the only two courtyards which one could gain access belonged to the grassy plain and the courtyard used by prisoners for exercise, the former serving more for the beautification of the dreary complex; now soured by the festering walking dead. The epicenter of the vast monument to the brutality and immorality of mans baser characteristics, was the stubby octagonal tower to which each cell block was fastened. The circular building was a complex unto itself, totally self sufficient from the cell blocks that issued from the round structure. Each block had its own facilities and could operate independently of the center administration complex, this was also useful to quill riots or at least prevent an outbreak into sensitive areas. The octagon, as it had been christened by the inmates was stout structure consisting of three stories, the first two served for official use; mainly for the physical handling and processing of incoming inmates. The top most level was reserved for the day to day administration of the prison complex, the warden's lavish living quarters was set dead center in its interior circumference. The cell blocks lack much in comparison to the majestic, yet pudgy semi-tower. The blocks were dingy and reeking of body odor, sweat and the occasional inopportune release of urine upon the concrete floor. This most detestable living space had been barely brought up to modern standards of incarceration, the maintenance staff were obscenely deficient in their painting duties. Save for the installment of bright fluorescent into the ceiling nothing has changed since the construction of the cell blocks more then 7o years before. The sickly fungal hued color of the original cell walls bled through the sploshing of the new-fangled color scheme. The barriers which kept the prisoners from wandering the halls of the prison betrayed their age to showcase the depravity of a bygone era. The bonded bars of modern jail cells were virtually nonexistent in the medieval era of iron slated doors, with their floor level openings through which daily rashings were forced onto those poor unfortunate souls locked within their cramped holes. Such is the case of the several dozen inmates still left within their cells, these were the last of those who..........
The Allensworth correctional facility was completely empty of its staff, its guard and even the obsessively dedicated warden. The bodies of the inmates which once packed the cells and hallways of Allensworth had been long since carted away, leaving the cold to reclaim the complex. The prison had stood witness to some of the most amazing displays of brutality and carnage, though it had never experienced the horror of complete emptiness, for even when the the prison was but barely completed in 1843, it had housed one of its first inmates.

A shadoweed form stood to the left of the projection screen, its back appaerantly turned away from the spectators of this most sinister and wonderous display. Upon the screen the imes of the strange glowing opject beneath the flat covering, the uncertainty of this objects classication would be answered now that a full transfer of the hundred year old film had been patched together. If Sam was there he would have seen that his first instincts were correct, the covering was comprised of some strange metal allow and not minerial or rock, as was suggested by his refusal to accept wwhat he considered to be too outlandish a thought. Lily had no way of knowing about Sam's absence from ther festival and the displaying of the Marion Rose. The vieled indisvigual near the screen had turned to face the seated crowd, then it took several steps and was suddenly illuminated by the flickering of the grainy sepia toned film-The shadowed figure was Old man Lovecfrat and not his grandson, he had dug up the iron box a few hours after it had been buried by Sam. As if on cue, the old man suddcenly turned to face the screen just as the creature made its brief appearencein the film. In that moment and with that reveal the entire audiance would jump out of the seats in one unified motion of surprise and fear. The creature was far to fast howeever and so they had only been exposed to a portion of its immense form, this was sufficant enough to scare every single audiance member, including the 117 year old sailor. Survice it to say, thety were all beleivers now.

Sam was certain that there was only one answer as to who had recovered the iron box and its contents from under the porch, and his grandfathers absence only fortified this realization. Although he was certain as to who now possessed the film footage, he never thought for instant that his grandfather would be so foolish as to show it to anyone, seeing as he was so adamant about destroying the film.
Sam was sitting on the couch in the living room as he pondered over the possibilities and reasons for his grandfathers actions. Searching the limits of his mind he decided to go yup to the old mans bedroom, perhaps there was some clue to be found there. Taking one final gulp of his bourbon Sam got up from the couch and made his way into the other room and then up the stairs to the third floor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lily was still sitting on the jagged rocks near the waters brim as she gazed out into the ocean. All signs of the large towing machines which had pulled the Marion Rose from the icy depths had been Bulldozed over, the sand had been returned to its pristine condition.
It took the city council several days to complete this and so the large groove caused by the Marion Rose and the heavy equipment was an eye sore for all that time, something which many Astorians complained about a a daily basis until the problem was solved.
Somehow the clean up effort had slipped Lily's mind and she had not noticed the new groove in the sand, clearly her thoughts were elsewhere.
The groove was etched several feet into the sand, causing the displaced earth to pile up into two six foot high lines which went from the edge of the water all the way up to the edge of the woodlands.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Sam was rummaging through his grandfathers personal possessions, examining first the dresser and then the closet near the bedroom door. It was within his grandfathers closet that Sam discovered a curious looking old cardboard box, Sam tore the lid from the box and then walked back across the room and dumped its contents onto his grandfathers bed.
Apparently old man Lovecraft had a large section of the disturbing film in his possession prior to the discovery of the remainder stashed aboard the Marion Rose.
Sam snatched up the clippings and held them up to the window to allow the sunlight to filter through the frames and enable him to see what had been captured on this particular splice of film. Sam reeled back in utter horror at what he had discovered. "Oh my God!"

Joshua sensed a high level of initial distrust between the three strangers, it was also becomimng clear that his preecene had caused some disturbance. Not wanting to scare anyone he stepped closer to the yuong doctor and the alieb visiteor. "Well, you are on the planet Earth and it lies withoin a setion of the universe commonly known as the Miky Way." Joshua piuased at point to let the young man toatly absorbed the inforamtion, then turning to the blond woamn. "Let me assure you that Im not from the goverenment, if thats what your thinking. Im from a private organization, forv which I do some freelanceing. I have brought this young man to our planet, in the hope that he would be willing to help us." Josghua looked back at the awestrsuck visitor. "I realize that I have no right to snatch you from your own reality, and if you choose not to aid us Ill understand. I cannot guarutee you that if I put you back on the original course from which you were liberrated, that you will end up in a better situation. That one diemsional tranference may have meant your death." Joshua had walked into a room full of pain and sorrow, just to his left there lay an old woman who was crying over the loss of a loved one. Joshua could tell that the woman was very weary of him and of his intentions, she was trying her best to prevent anyone from knowing about her special abilities. Joshua needed to ggian thier trsust before negoations could continue and so he made the first move toward achieving some sense of mutual trust. "Abigial! Yes, I even klnow your name. You are no cdoubt wondering how I could kow all these things about you, well let me assure you that there are some very powerful beings upon this planet. Some of these people, generally speaking, are all too human, but they have thier own uniuq......giflts? You might say." Joshua turned his head to ensure that he also had the visitors attention. "One such indibgual, who may bec caleed Mr X, can detect the presence of any......mutant, forlack of a better term, anywhere in the world. He has recently been developing his ability to detech those indiviguals with any variety of super powers. Thats how I can know of you. You are not alone!" Joshua stretched out his right arm and opened his upturned hand, in an instant something spectacular occured. Joshua's hand burst forth into a brilljiant blue flame. In that moment the old crying widow sitting on the nearby cot immedaitly stopped sobbing, as a feeling of complete and utter happyness swepted oveer her mind. Joshua looked over at Abigial and Akira. "You might say, that I know a thing or two about the abstact conception of true and pure goodness."

Omega Supreme has been wandering the strs for the last million years now, he even millons of yers olde then that, having been one of the original and no the last f the great Cybertronian gaurdians. Now tvaveling through the univrse Omega supreme had not noticed the change that had occured in the starsield formations, cntinueing throught the vast reaches of space. The switch in deimentions would havant ilisted more then a momentasry sence of surprise, the injuringes which he had suffered all those millions of years ago ad taken from hi his emotions. Megatron's dreaded Robo-Smasher had robbed him of these facilties, the device had been used to sewll the ranks of the Decpticons in the early days befoe the great war. It wasunable to reprogram Omega Supreme, as he tore the evilmchine from off his head before it couyld get its tencacles into Omega's sstem relay. The masher did cause severe damage to his sopeach center, destroying his ability to communicate fluently and with feeling, resultin in a slow and broken spech pattern, luckily it had not effected his mind of intelligance, it simply made it much harder for oOmega to properly emote. Omega had not been on earth for many millions of years now, and although the earth of his reality and the oneof te current einsion both went through a year 2006, they were not the same 2006. If by ome mirecacle Omega could go back to the 2006 of Earth-616 ewould find himself swimming in a pre-history earth swirlng with a molten core and little else. Omega Supreme was growoing weary of travelelig aimless through the universe and had decided to seek out the sourse and cause of the trans-diemntiojal disturbance which had snatched him from his own reality.

One of the subjects under the rule of Devin's court wasnt satisfied with gthe situatiion, as it had been lasid out by the midget king, he was determined to set things right. Stepping from behind the gathering of mainly gruff looking convicts was the rather large frame of Daniel Powers, or the "Powerhoudse" as he was known throughout the facility. He was a big man with an even bigger attitute, a low intelligiance sort of person, yet menacing and mean tempored. Pushing the other inmates aside he came before Deviln. "Listen to me pencil dick, I dont take orders from anyone. This is my cell block sweety."
----------------------------------------------------------
The two woman could here the sound of somomne shuffling thier way toward the cells from around the corner, but then the sound of stepping feet had returned the cell block to a normal level of ambient sound, save for the heavy breathe\ing of Jo and Luari. There the mysterious vistoer would pause, unlike the inmates however, this person didnt seem to be breathing very hard, in fact he wasnt breathing at all. Slap!! Came the loud sound of a fleshy palm smaxccking againsgt conxrete. A bloody hand grabbs the cornewr of the wall, hororing Jo and Lauri with the very first glimpse of what lay for every prisoner beyond the walls of the priison.
----------------------------------------------------------
As if hunger, fear, and pegraccy werent sufficant enough concerns, the intrioduction of yet another obstackle would certianly break what lttle will the inmates of cell block 5 had left. Perhaps it would have been a much better torture tactic to have introduced this next bit of confusion to the indivigual in cell block #1. Still, it should provide much amusment to whoever it was that had inprisoned them. The surprise came when thier was a lull in the frantic conversation between the terrified inmates of the vblock, in that moment they heard the faint sound of paper sliding on a concrete floor-A newspaper. The situtation that these people have found themselves in would effect anyone, in various ways be it mental or emotional. One thing was cetain, they were all qiute sane, no one was dreaming, this was reality. The poeople trapped inside cell block 5 knew who they were, they maight not understand how they came to be in this prison, but they knew that they lived in the real world of 2012. Eccept for the unnearving fact that the headline on the first page of the newspaper indicates that the year wascin fact March 21, 2017. It seems that nearly five years of thier lives had escaped them. The jailer was ovewhelmed with the excitjment of seeing thier reatiojns once they picked up his little present.
------------------------------------------------------------
Kc wasunaware of the drastic shift in time from her last memory till this very moment, as a result her opsevation concerning the impracticlaly of survalience epiquipment being installed within such as deshevvelled and outdated prison was incorrect, the people controling the prison had ample time to achieve such a feat. She indeed was being watched, though there was no way to asertain the possible identity of this pereson, or indeed persons. For all she knew, a prisoner could be one of these people in desgiuse. Possibly one of the more ceedier crijminal elents from directly across the block, though more likely one of the seemingly incoent, average citizens down the aisles.
