Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is a 1985 slasher film. It was released on March 22, 1985. It is the fifth film in the Friday the 13th film series. Despite the previous film claiming to be the "final chapter," this installment set out to live up to its title by being a "new beginning" for the franchise.
After five years of being shuffled between various mental institutions, 17-year-old Tommy Jarvis has now been placed in the Pinehurst halfway house run by Dr. Matt Letter, which operates on an honor system. It is not made clear, following the events of the previous film ,what happened to Tommy's sister, Trish (presumably now deceased). One day one of the patients, Vic, attacks and murders another named Joey with an axe. When the paramedics come to clean up the mess, one's joking attitude apparently upsets another named Roy. Soon the killings begin and Tommy believes it is Jason who is doing the murders.

Terribly Underrated, this movie has the best twist and a lot of great death scenes. Very unique and smart movie.

I was just recently re-thinking this installment, and it is actually more of a true Slasher then any of the installments which came after it.
